Photo 365 - Day 56

Most of you who read my blog probably already know I am doing photo 365. For people who don't know what that is I will fill you in. Photo 365 is documenting your life with a photo a day for a year. This photo can be anything you want just as long as you take a photo a day. Today my photo has a little bit of a description to it so I thought I would do a blog post about it because its kind of special.

Since I moved to Elora with Matt we have been on a few walks through the trail but with him being away with work we don't get to do it too often. Today we went out for a long walk because it was so mild. It was beautiful. As we were walking we passed this marker on the tree. The first thing that popped into my mind was my Grandpa. My Grandpa absolutely loved hiking. When we would go on hikes we would always learn about the markers on the trees and what they meant. My Gpa took us for hikes in Elora sometimes so it was nice to go back to revisit the memories. I miss you Gpa! Elora is just as beautiful as before.

Matt and I ventured all over the trails. They weren't very busy so it was kind of nice to have the time to ourselves. As we walked down this hill that is above it went down towards a slow part of the water and it was beautiful!

Down at the bottom of the hill was this huge rock that was hollowed out underneath that ad a bunch of ice on it. Of course we had to venture all over it. This is a photo of me sitting on the ice.. well my feet

And this photo is of the entire view of the ice on the rock! It was crazy! I regret sitting on it now because for the rest of the walk my butt was all wet. But it was so much fun!

This photo is if you were sitting on the ice on the rock and looked out onto the water. There were two geese and two little ducks there the entire time just floating around. It was so peaceful down there.

As we continued on the trail as climbed up higher and got further away from the water. We would come to parts that you would be able to look through the trees and see the water and you would see things like this. All these ice waterfalls. It was really cool to see.

Some parts were very snow covered and you wouldn't even know water was there and other parts the water was flowing like crazy.

This was the last picture of our walk. I got Matt to take it of me so that I would be able to scrapbook this trip. I have a photo of Matt but he wouldn't let me put it up on my blog. I am still working on him with the photo thing.  He hates pictures.

Overall my favourite part of the walk today would be the marker on the tree and who it reminded me of. There are things that happen all the time that remind me of my Gpa and today was nice to see that. I will have to scrapbook that moment for sure!:)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Design Team Reveal

I recently got to work with the Love Notes line for my design team kit over at Two Scrapbook Friends. I absolutely loved this line. It was defiantly geared towards love and valentines day but I changed it around a little bit.  This was the first layout I created.

I did alot of stitching on my layouts and used my Cameo alot to cut out any of the die-cuts or titles.

I created a banner along the top and used a scrabble tile font off my Cameo for my title.

This is the second layout I created of my grandparents on their 45th wedding anniversary.

I created an accordion folded border and then added some hearts on top of it.

I added a couple banner pieces with some buttons with some stitching down the side to create a place for my title to sit on.

I added some journaling on my page from the computer to explain the story of the day.

For my final project I created a card box with three cards inside. The cards and the box are 3x4. Looking at the photo you would never guess.

Here are my cards that I created. This one is my favourite.

I stitched a border for my banner on this card.

And I loved my little love bug on this card.

Thanks for looking!:)

Let Connect Crop!

Welcome to the Let's Connect Crop at Two Scrapbook Friends. There are so many different ways to stay connected in the world these days. The design teams was each given a social media based challenge to work with to create a challenge for our scrapbook friends. The social media device I was given was email.  Below is what I created based on my challenge.

My challenge for you guys is to use an envelope somehow on the project that you create. You can create an envelope, cut up an envelope and put in on your project, the list could go on and on.

For my creation I cut out this adorable envelope on my Silhouette. The front of the envelope is plain and the back has a heart design cut out all over it.

Inside on each of my envelopes are three adorable cards that I created.

For this project I used the Love Notes line from Fancy Pants.

I used my Silhouette  to cut out alot of the images for my cards.  I got one from Santa for Christmas and I use it for everything.

I would love to see what you guys come up with based on my challenge for the Let's Connect Crop.  Once you have completed each challenge, upload a photo of it to our Layout Gallery and link it back to the appropriate challenge thread in the Forum. (ALL LAYOUTS MUST BE CREATED JUST FOR THIS CROP to qualify for prizes. ) Finally, each layout will count towards only ONE challenge. Be sure to upload no later than February 18th at 11:59 pm.  There is a special category in the Layout Gallery for each challenge and participants MUST post a photo of their project under the correct category in the Gallery to be eligible for any prizes.

Growing up...

Growing up is a fact of life. When you were little you couldn't wait to be an adult and once you are grown up you wish you could go back to being a child. My parents used to tell me to cherish every single moment of my life because you could never get it back. I used to nod my head and continue on with my day. My parents also always said to me that when I was older I would look back and realize that they were right and they were just trying to help me prepare for my life ahead of me.

In two weeks I am going to be 21 years old. Crazy!! I know! Looking back on the life that I have experienced it honestly has gone so fast. I have experienced so many amazing moments in my life and I couldn't tell you my favourite. I have met so many amazing people who have touched my life in so many different ways and changed me into the person I am today I couldn't thank them enough.

I honestly cant believe I am going to be 21. In the past couple months I have moved out of my parents house and met an AMAZING guy. I'm sure if you have read my previous posts you have heard all about Matt. I could talk about that guy forever. He is  probably the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. Over the past year I have to say I have done alot of growing up, I have made alot of mistakes, gotten into arguments, experienced really exciting things, and also not so happy moments. While experiencing all of those I have learned alot about myself.

The one main thing that I have learned is that money really doesn't grow on trees and that when my parents said that when I was younger they were were completely honest that they didn't have an endless supply. I am starting to slowly realize that you need to really work for every single thing that you have/want in life. I have to say I was a very well off kid. My parents spoiled us all the time and I didn't realize that until I am no longer living at home and I'm starting to have to pay for things I never had to before and i'm also realizing how expensive things really are.

Another thing I have learned is that your parents are always right. As much I hate saying those words they are one hundred percent true. All of the advice that my parents gave me and the rules they set in place for me as a kid are starting to pay off. One I still have trouble understanding is staying up too late. I have to work on that one still

My family and Matt are the most important things in my life right now and I honestly don't know what I would do without them in my life. They keep me on the right track. I know I'm far from perfect and I make many mistakes but these people love me no matter what.

Growing up is scary, and not as fun as I thought. But some parts of it are pretty amazing! Being 21 means I am one step closer to more exciting moments of my life. and I cant wait to share these with the people I love. I am always pinning wedding and baby things on Pinterest and with growing up I will get to hopefully experiences those one day.   I'm sure everyone who reads this probably thinks my life is crazy and who seriously reflects on things like that. But when you really think about your life and how much it has changed in such a short amount of time you might do the same.

What are some things your thankful for?

Crafty Challenge - Use a Frame

Its time for my first crafty challenge of this term for the design team! I am going to challenge you guys this week to use a frame on your project somehow. Below is the layout that I created based on my challenge. I used my frame as a background piece for my layout.

I also added some stitching around my frame to create a second one. Then I added some stars to finish off this portion of my layout.

I used my Silhouette to cut out my title and then created a border to go under it.

I would love to see your creations based on my challenge. Once you complete your challenge make sure you upload them to the forum and the gallery. I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with.
